Scrambled Eggs and Fried Apples

 



If you have a carb, like the apples and honey, it is a good idea to pair it with a zero carb food, especially a protein, like eggs.

Using a 'healthy' sweetener is always best and my number pick is always raw unfiltered honey, but remember that it is still a sweetener and should be used sparingly and not often. When frying apples a tart apple is usually the best bet, like a green apple. Even if when you eat a raw apple your choice is a sweeter apple like the Gala, which happens to be my favorite.

Another habit to get into is always eat a larger portion of the no carb protein and a very small portion, or serving of the carb, in this case fried apples. Don't forget to add the cinnamon to your apples!

The fried apples can be made ahead of time, such as while you are making supper the night before, stored in the refrigerator and just heated up at breakfast.
